Description
Satra the Kjarr, leader of the Ashen Weald, is one of the most influential gryphons in K. Vale Nagle’s Gryphon Insurrection series. However, she has yet to have her own art piece in the series. Why? She’s a mixture of a caracal and golden-crowned kinglet — which means her most striking feature is the cap of vibrant feathers on her head, something that’s difficult to capture in the black & white interior art.
We’ve been trying for years to find a way to give Satra the visual love she deserves. When Neal Deschain at Verdant Sculpts asked who would feature in our second figurine, there was no contest: it had to be Satra. She may not be as eye-catching as Softpaws, but she’s exactly what we imagined: subtle and regal with her natural golden crown. Neal’s a master of expressions, and he really pulled out a little twinkle in Satra’s eyes and smile on her face. I imagine this is Satra at the Blue Eyed Festival, listening to stories of Mignet.
Details
The figure is cast from highly durable urethane resin, each one hand painted by Neal in his iconic style, numbered, signed, and sealed with a matte protective varnish. It comes with a certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist and author: Neal Deschain and K. Vale Nagle.
The Satra figurine measures 3 inches long, 2.5 inches wide, and 2.75 inches tall and weighs 4.2 ounces.

Sustainability
As ever, we’re committed to making these in as sustainable a way as possible, while ensuring this figurine will bring you joy for years to come. The cast is made from urethane resin, which, as a petroleum-based product, is not ecologically sustainable, but has a longevity that other materials have not yet achieved. Verdant Sculpts takes many steps to reduce its carbon footprint and conduct business sustainably: they do all production in house, reuse production mold material, choose sustainable shipping solutions, and use Golden Paints. Any figures that are unsuitable for production are sold at a discount on their website to their Collector’s Club members, keeping these items out of landfills.
